Indi FolkandBallet Artists from Oregon Bal let Theatre will share a stage with Portland indie folk band Horse Feathers as part of a new collaborative project called Uprising. Conceived by OBT soloist Candace Bouchard, Uprising is an e m erg in g cre a tiv e movement among the dancers of OBT designed to bring the beauty of ballet to new audiences in non-traditional venues. The Indi folk band Horse Feathers will share the stage with The debut installment at Mississippi Studios, 3939 N. Mississippi Ave. Ben Franklin: Unplugged Josh Kornbluth's comic autobiography was inspired when the monologist and fringe theater performer looked into his bathroom mirror and discovered a startling resemble to Ben Franklin. The warmly comic production runs through Nov. 22 at Portland Center Stage. OMSI’s Science of Fear: Dare to wear bee beard Are you brave enough to wear a colony of 5,(XX) honeybees on your face?! In con junction with its new exhibit Scream! Fea turing Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear, the Oregon Museum of Science and In dustry (OMS1) invites visitors to test their courage and enter for a chance to wear a beard o f live bees. Three w inners will be chosen to wear the beard o f bees at OMS1 on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. The Beard o f Bees event will take place in the OM SI auditorium and is free and open to the public. G ibeau has wrangled bees on dozens of m ovie sets and is a highly experienced bee keeper. To get the bees on a person's face, the participant wears a necklace with a small plastic cage attached.
